About ZHAireS |
ZHAireS is an implementation of the ZHS formalism for the computation of the radio emission of particle cascades, originally developed by E. Zas, F. Halsen, and T. Stanev (1991-1992). ZHAireS must be installed as an AIRES extension.
Custom adaptation to AIRES 2.8.4a (2008-2009) by J. Alvarez-Muñiz and W. Rodriguez-Carvhalo Jr. at Departamento de Física de Partículas, USC, Spain. Integration into AIRES 2.8.4a in 2010-2011 (ZHAireS beta) by M. Tueros at Departamento de Fĩsica de PartÃculas, USC, Spain. Integration into AIRES 18-09-01 in December 2018 (ZHAireS 1.0) by M. Tueros and S. J. Sciutto at Departamento de Fĩsica UNLP, and IFLP (CONICET), Argentina. Integration into AIRES 19-04-00 in May 2019 (ZHAireS 1.0.25) by M. Tueros at Departamento de Fĩsica UNLP, and IFLP (CONICET), Argentina. ZHAireS 1.0.26 released in August 2020 by M. Tueros at Departamento de Física UNLP, and IFLP (CONICET). Current version released on July 2021 (ZHAireS 1.0.30) by M. Tueros at Departamento de Fĩsica UNLP, and IFLP (CONICET), Argentina.
ZHAireS implementations and the ZHS formalism are documented in the following references:
ZHAireS executable programs:
Once installed, ZHAireS adds new programs to the existing AIRES distribution, namely:
(i) The main air shower simulation programs ZHAireSS21, ZHAireSS23, ZHAireSS23d, ZHAireSEP199, ZHAireSEPLHC, ZHAireSQIIr03, and ZHAireSQIIr04, that correspond to links of the main simulation system with different versions of the hadronic collision simulation packages SIBYLL, EPOS, and QGSJET, respectively (for details about these models see the AIRES documentation page). The default air shower simulation program, ZHAireS, is equivalent to ZHAireSS23d.
(ii) The summary program, ZHAireSSry, designed to process a part of the data generated by the simulation program, allowing the user to analyze the results of the simulation after completing it, or even while it is being run.
(iii) ZHAireS-Python, a set of (experimental and optional) scripts in Python to extract information of summary files, condense the ZHAireS output files into a single HDF5 file and other utilities is available at github.com/mjtueros/ZHAireS-Python.
(iv) ZHAireS GDASTool, a ZHAireS adaptation of a python script
originally developed by Pragati Mitra
